Outstanding achievements recognized in all areas of key performance indicators and research and business cooperation activities
Korea University Sejong Campus has been selected as the top university in the second year annual evaluation of the Ministry of Education's third phase Leaders in Research and Business Cooperation (LINC 3.0) project.
This annual evaluation was conducted through quantitative evaluation composed of key performance indicators and qualitative evaluation consisting of industry academic cooperation activities. The Sejong LINC 3.0 Foundation received excellent evaluations in various areas of performance in the second year and plans for the third year.
In particular, compared to the first year, it showed growth in all quantitative and qualitative aspects, faithfully performed regional based research and business cooperation activities, and achieved numerous regional based results contributing to the development of Sejong City. Consequently, additional budget compared to the previous year was also significantly secured.
Specific evaluation opinions include plans to create an research and business cooperation leading model centered on the mid to long term development plan for research and business cooperation and specialized fields, operation of the Industry Club Mini Center (ICMC), a specialized research and business cooperation brand unique to Korea University Sejong Campus, with participation from all departments, achievements in joint research and business technology development projects and medium to large scale technology transfer, expansion of close partnerships with three specialized communities: Regional Innovation Center (RIC), Innovation & Integration Center (IIC), and Global Innovation Center (GIC), which were recognized as differentiated excellent achievements.
In the area of regional cooperation, which was emphasized in the second year to prepare for the Regional Innovation Support System (RISE), the evaluation highlighted the operation of the ICC through the union of the ICC and department based ICMC linked to local government development strategies, activation of the industry academic cooperation council and operation of numerous programs linked to local governments, regular promotion of newsletters to family and local companies to strengthen regional based research and business cooperation, establishment of the Regional Innovation Cooperation Center to focus on collaboration with local governments, which was highly evaluated for faithfully implementing regional innovation strategies.
Furthermore, all key performance indicators for the second year were exceeded, and the achievement of autonomous performance indicators also received good evaluations. The plan part was also recognized for its excellent preparation, including strengthening the functions of the research and business foundation, improving human resources development plans, and establishing budget plans for each growth stage.
Kim Young, Director of the Sejong LINC 3.0 Foundation said, "This achievement is the result of a thorough analysis and feedback of the first year results, with all university members making all out efforts for regional based industry academic cooperation required in the second year of the project. We will not rest on our laurels with these excellent results, but will continue to strive for successful project execution in the third year and contribute to regional development for a smooth transition to the RISE system starting in 2025."
