On August 20, Korea University Sejong Campus signed a MOU with the Sejong City Office of Education and the Sejong Human resources & Lifelong Education Development Foundation to realize a sustainable development education city.

 

The signing ceremony was attended by over ten officials, including Superintendent Choi Gyojin of the Sejong City Office of Education, Vice President Kim Young of Korea University Sejong Campus, and Director Namgung Young of the Sejong Human resources & Lifelong Education Development Foundation.

 

Through this agreement, the three institutions agreed to cooperate continuously on the operation of public institutions and education considering sustainable development, establishing joint education plans for achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) in school, university, and lifelong education, and sharing resources and facilities to promote sustainable development education.

 

Vice President Kim Young stated, "We hope that this agreement will establish an organic cooperation system between school education, university education, and lifelong education for a sustainable Sejong City."

 

Additionally, Director Hwang Yongha, of the Center for Teaching and Learning & IT Service, stated, "We expect this agreement to serve as a foundation for the stable expansion of the educational value of learning and sharing in Korea University's innovative SEMO (Student Engaged MOdular) Class."

 

On a realted note, Korea University Sejong Campus is steadily expanding its innovative 'SEMO Class' — a learning-sharing type of education that promotes educational growth and values of learning and sharing for a sustainable community by addressing practical issues related to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in collaboration with the local community.
