A special program for nurturing entrepreneurial human resources, involving 3 local universities and 6 startups in Sejong

From August 27 to 29, the ICC General Center under the Korea University Sejong Campus LINC 3.0 Foundation held the ‘3 Universities X Regional Startups ONE TEAM Challenge Project’. This is a specialized program for fostering globally connected ICC professionals and was held at the Sejong City Osong Hotel.

The event brought together Korea University Sejong Campus, Hongik University, Korea University of Media Arts, Sejong Center for Creative Economy & Innovation and six startups, promoting organic collaboration. The program aimed to enhance students’ understanding of entrepreneurship and nurture future entrepreneurial professionals.

Outstanding startups recommended by relevant organizations and university business incubators in Sejong included Ustem, Handy Farm, Virtual Brothers, Delta Edu, Fitlyever, and Maschzu. These companies shared their challenges during the event, providing students with practical experiences in exploring and solving real-world problems.

On the first day, participants received training on the basics of entrepreneurship and an understanding of business models (BM). Students learned essential elements of the entrepreneurial process, from basic concepts to technology commercialization. They also engaged in discussions with local startup leaders to explore practical issues and the various challenges that could arise during the entrepreneurial process.

The second day featured intensive training on utilizing ChatGPT for corporate activities. Students learned practical entrepreneurial skills, such as improving customer service, preparing marketing materials, and conducting market research and analysis using ChatGPT. They also had time to collaborate with experts to refine solutions connected to the vision and product identity of the companies. Each team proposed creative and systematic solutions through close communication.

On the final day, each team presented their refined proposals and solutions. After receiving feedback from the judges, awards were given to the teams with outstanding results, including the Grand Prize, Excellence Award, and Encouragement Award.

Professor Yoo Jaehyun stated, "This project provided students with an educational program where they could develop problem-solving skills in real startup environments. We will continue to offer significant opportunities for collaboration among relevant organizations, universities, and startups to activate the local entrepreneurial ecosystem in the future."
