From August 29 to 30, the Advanced Semiconductor Process Equipment Human Resource Cultivation Foundation at Korea University Sejong Campus hosted a workshop at the Sensory Wellness Resort in Chungbuk.
The purpose of this workshop is to enhance collaboration between participating companies and universities in the Semiconductor Specialization University Support Project through information sharing, to operate human resource cultivation programs based on corporate demand, and to maximize project performance by discovering and spreading successful research and business cooperation cases. The workshop was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Education, Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology, Korea University Sejong Campus, 26 students from the Convergence Major, and a total of over 70 people, including 22 semiconductor companies such as AP Systems and Nexa Inc.
On the first day, discussions were held on the topics of human resource cultivation policies in line with the semiconductor industry growth strategy, plans for nurturing human resource in advanced semiconductor process equipment, sharing successful cases of research and business cooperation, self-directed innovative learning models based on corporate collaboration, and industry-university-research networking. On the second day, activities included employment mentoring in the advanced semiconductor process equipment field, and reviewing the performance of the first half of the second year and planning for the second half.
Director Yang Jiwoon stated, "To strengthen the global competitiveness of Korea's core high-tech semiconductor industry, we will strive to nurture the best specialized professionals in the semiconductor field by providing students with high-quality educational programs and various on-site experiences such as corporate internships."
