Classification according to Purpose of Scholarship Support
- Scholarship for Tuition Reduction (=Tuition Scholarship) : Scholarship to alleviate the burden for enrollment fee (tuition)
- Scholarship for Purposes Other Than Tuition Reduction (=Scholarship to Assist in Learning) : Quid pro quo and reward-type scholarship to support living expenses/dormitory expenses other than enrollment fee (tuition), expenses for student council activities, mentoring, support for working students, etc., not relevant to reduction of enrollment fee (tuition)
Scholarship Target
- Scholarship is paid only to students enrolled in the semester
- Exceptions apply when a leave of absence is inevitable due to participation in overseas internship or for working student scholarship
- A person wishing to receive scholarship must apply for a scholarship and submit the required documents within the prescribed period
Double Scholarship Benefits
- For tuition reduction scholarships, double benefits are permitted within a scope of the tuition
e.g.) When an enrolled student of humanities and social studies field (Tuition: KRW 3.56 million) from the seventh income quantile applies for a scholarship, the scholarship is excluded from payment if the student has already received the national scholarship of KRW 600,000, need-based scholarship of KRW 1.18 million and KU Family Scholarship of KRW 1.78 million (KRW 3.56 million in total). However, double scholarship benefits are permitted within the scope of the tuition - For scholarships other than those for tuition reduction (scholarship to assist in learning), double benefits are permitted regardless of the scope of tuition
e.g.) Even after receiving scholarships within the scope of his or her tuition, a student, if selected for the scholarship paid monthly for living expenses by an outside scholarship foundation A, can receive the scholarship regardless of the previous scholarships received
e.g.) Some scholarships for assistance in educational expenses do not allow double benefits with other scholarships for living expenses (KUPC Scholarship for Living Expenses, etc.) - For non-campus scholarships, the regulations of the organizations that provide scholarship are followed
- To a student subject to double scholarship benefits, a scholarship that is more advantageous to the student is preferentially paid followed by a scholarship from the treasury (national scholarship, etc.), a non-campus scholarship, a campus scholarship (scholarship from school fund) and a campus scholarship (scholarship from enrollment fees)
