Article 20 (Removal from the School Register), Article 26 (Length of Studentship), Academic Regulations Article 31 (Return after Military Service Discharge), Article 37 (Length of Studentship), Article 40 (Reasons for Return of Enrollment Fee), Article 73 (Academic Warning)

An action taken to request that a student discontinues his or her studies when conditions for removal from the school register occur

1. Students who fail to return within the registration period after their rationale for absence is no longer valid
2. Students who fail to register for a semester by the deadline
3. Students who face dismissal through a disciplinary process
4. Students of whom the length of studentship has expired
5. Students who received academic warnings by a prescribed number (three times in a row)
6. Students who are subject to removal from the school register for reasons set forth in the School Regulations

1. Length of total studentship for an undergraduate degree course is twice the time limits of course completion
2. Length of studentship for re-admitted and transfer students is twice the remaining time limits of course completion
3. Students affiliated with a department (or division/school) that allows for grade retention may extend the length of studentship by a maximum of one year when a student’s unique circumstances are recognized
4. The term of a leave of absence is not included in the length of studentship
5. The length of studentship includes the student register retention period for students exceeding the time limits of course completion if they fail to satisfy any special requirements for graduation stipulated by the relevant department (or division/school), including graduation test, graduation thesis, English test score, or Chinese character certification, while completing the credits required for graduation under Article 56

• For students who have been admitted before 2013, Addendum Article 3 (Measures on Prolonged Studentship) of the Academic Regulations shall apply

Enrollment fee is refunded to a student who withdraws from university after paying the fee or to a student who is on a leave of absence after paying the fee and withdraws from university
(The refund schedule and rate differ depending on the date the leave of absence or withdrawal is applied for.)

• Students of whom the length of studentship has expired must be removed from the school register and not be granted readmission.
