Transfer

Students who are enrolled in or on a leave of absence from a university or higher education institution or who have graduated from a university are granted transfer midway

1. Transfer in the Third Year: A person who has completed at least the second year of study at a four-year university, graduated (expected to graduate) from a community college, or recognized as having an equal or higher academic standing
2. A person recognized as having qualifications equal to those specified in subparagraphs 1 and 2 under the School Regulations and national statutes, including the Higher Education Act and Enforcement Decree of the Higher Education Act, and University regulations

1. Credits transferred must not exceed 17 per semester (18 for colleges (undergraduate) and divisions (departments) that require a minimum of 135 credits or more for graduation)
2. Courses recognized for credit transfers shall cannot be retaken
3. For general transfer students to the College of Education, credits transferred for major courses will be approved only when a student’s major at KU and at their previous institution are the same
4. Credits transferred for general transfer students are recognized up to half of the minimum required credits for the major subjects of first, second, and dual majors, respectively

• Credit transfers are not approved for transfer students with a bachelor’s degree from a previous institution
